How Much Do Prada Nylon Bags Cost?

And more importantly, are they worth it?

Since I published an article on the foldable Prada nylon travel bag, I have been getting a lot of questions about how much these handbags cost and if they’re worth the money. I personally like these nylon bags because they are practical and somewhat affordable. Prices range from $490 (retail) for a small camera bag to just over $900 for a bigger diaper bag, making them thousands cheaper than Prada’s leather arm candies. Even better, they are available at Prada outlet stores at heavily discounted prices. For those of you who are wondering if you can buy a Prada for less than $1,000, there's your answer.

Now on to the next question: Are they worth the money? I’ve had nothing but great experiences with my Prada nylon bags, so I would say yes, they are worth every dollar.

First of all, they are extremely durable. I’ve had my turquoise Prada Crispy Nylon tote for close to eight years now, and it’s still in perfect condition. I used it daily for almost 4 years and still use it now for spring/summer travels. The nylon has no rips, the stitching has held up really well, and the color hasn’t faded. The bag cost me $450 back then and seems to have held its resale value. I saw the exact same bag on eBay being sold for $350. (See the listing here.)

Prada’s nylon bags are also washable—and you can’t say that about leather. The brand’s signature tessuto nylon is a hardy material that can be safely popped into the washer. Yup, the washer. I have actually done this to my bags at least 5 times, simply putting them in laundry bags and washing them on a gentle cycle. Don’t worry—the metal hardware won’t be damaged. Stains also wipe off very easily, so these bags are perfect for anyone who tends to spill their coffee.

Finally, they are great for travel. Not only are Prada nylon handbags are lightweight—they can also be folded when not in use, making them suitable as extra bags for traipsing around a foreign city. I have used my nylon Prada bags in Europe and around Asia, and they’ve been perfect!

I own three tessuto Prada bags and have yet to be disappointed by any of them. I don’t see myself buying another soon because the ones I have still look pristine, but I would recommend these bags in a heartbeat. If you feel like treating yourself to a Prada but don’t want to spend more than $1,000 on a bag, you will love these.
